Mouthguards

If you are a sportsperson, clench or grind your teeth, you are in need of something to protect your teeth!

At Keilor Downs Dental, we customise the correct mouthguard to suit your needs.

A dentist – made, custom-fitted mouthguard can not only save you from a very expensive trip to the dentist or even the possibility of having your front teeth knocked out. It may will greatly reduce your chances of potentially life-threatening brain injuries. In trauma wards, severe soft tissue and bone injuries are often regarded as repairable; tooth injuries are often the only permanent injury. We are not suggesting you to wear a mouthguard while you are driving, as that would be funny site seeing everyone driving. We are simply suggesting that you wear one when playing sports like football (all codes) and hockey.

If you clench or grind your teeth, we recommend that you wear an Occlusal Splint (night guard). This helps to cushion your clenching and protect your teeth from wearing down to small stumps when grinding.
