What is a veneer?

There are two type of Veneers, Composite or porcelain. They are tiny shells of tooth coloured material that are bonded to the front surface of your teeth. One way to think of it is like an acrylic finger nail that you get done at a nail salon.

What are they used for?

Veneers can be used to improve the appearance of your teeth, if they are stained, chipped and in some cases they can help straighten your teeth. They are a more conservative approach then having a full crown placed, as they only need a small amount of enamel to be removed for them to be placed over your teeth, so that you don't get a bulky looking smile.
